MS Concealed Carry

Mississippi Concealed & Enhanced Carry Information

The State of Mississippi curently has two types of Concealed Carry Permits (CCP).  The first concealed carry permit is actually called a Firearms Permit.   A MS Firearms Permit is relatively easy to obtain and requires no formal firearms training.  However, there are some limitations on where you CAN  and CAN'T carry your firearm with this permit.  The second permit type is called an Enhanced Carry Permit.  To get the Enhanced Carry Permit you must attend a formal firearms training course from an instructor certified by the MS Dept. of Public Safety. The Enhanced Carry Permit greatly reduces the limitations on where you are legally able to carry your firearm.  In addition, the training classes can provide you with valuable information on firearm safety, options for concealed carry firearms, different types of carry holsters, and techniques and tactics for responsible gun owners.  See below for more information on how you can obtain your MS Firearms Permit and your MS Enhanced Carry Permit.

Applicants must fill out the application, have it notarized, and attach a recent picture to the application.  The completed application along with $132.00  must be brought to the nearest Permit Location where applicants will be fingerprinted and have their application processed. Click on the icon below to access the MS Dept. of Public Safety's Firearms Permit Site
